Signing in

Sign in with Apple. Use the button on the sign-in screen. If Apple asks, share an email so we can reach you. You can hide your personal address; Apple will give us a private one.

The code hasn't arrived. It can take a few minutes. Check your spam or junk folder, and ask for a new code only after waiting a little — sending too many in a row can delay them further. Enter the number in Jessie. You do not need to open the link in the email.

Sign in with a password. On the sign-in screen, tap Sign in with a password. This works only for an account that has a password. Everyone else should use Apple or the email code.

Stories

How long does a story take? A few minutes to write and record. You can leave Jessie while you wait; if you allowed notifications, it tells you when the story is ready.

Something in a story is wrong or upsetting. Open the story, tap the ⋯ menu and choose Report this story. A person reads every report. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. A hateful or child-safety report takes the story out of the library at once.

I don't want to see someone's stories. Open one of their stories, tap ⋯ and choose Don't show me this creator's stories. They aren't told. You can undo it in Settings.

I uploaded a recording. We store the file and check a transcript of it before other listeners can hear it. Jessie does not use the microphone.

Subscriptions

Jessie Library is $9.99 a month and Jessie Create is $14.99 a month, in the United States. Each can start with a 7-day free trial if you are eligible. The price shown in the app is the one you are charged.

A subscription renews each month until you cancel. Cancel at least a day before a trial or a month ends, in your Apple account settings. You can also manage it from Settings in Jessie, and restore a purchase there if you change phones.

Deleting your Jessie account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel with Apple first if you do not want to be charged again.

Your account

A public profile is off until you turn it on in Settings. Your display name can be a pen name. People who follow you see stories you credit to that profile, not anonymous ones.

Delete your account from Settings (the J circle at the top of Home). It removes your stories, recordings, profile and settings for good. It does not cancel an Apple subscription, and it cannot be undone.
